Guess Who Said This

"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

That one contestant in the Miss USA pageant?? Oh wait, no, she wasn't that coherent... ;-) Then I have no clue...

Nope, although that is an excellent guess. She has basically said the same thing in interviews. But this is a different Christian.

Come on people, you can do it.

bush? nope, not that coherent either.

Keith Richards? ;-)

Nope! Keith is not religious. And somehow I don't think he's against gay marriage because he's a pretty easygoing guy.

Not Bush ... or maybe. He could easily have said something like this so I wouldn't be surprised. But the person I'm directly quoting is someone else.

I was of course joking when I threw Keith Richards out there!:-)

Hmmm....what about that woman who's trying to get your blog deleted? Or...I really have no clue. Give us a hint?

Delores: DING DING DING DING DING!! You win: It was Obama.

I'm not judging this because I think he had to say that to win the election. I think later, during his second term (assuming there is one), he'll push for legalization of marriage for gay people. He left the door open by saying it was because of his religious beliefs ... he can easily rationalize later that, he cannot, in good conscious, deny others this basic right because of his religious beliefs alone. The old "Personally, I think it's wrong but ..." trick. That way the gays are happy and the religious right won't feel so betrayed.
