If an anonymous person gets caught having sex in public toilets or in possession of a small amount of drugs, they get a caution or a fine or community service. But if you are George Michael, you get tipped off and then get a caution or a fine or community service PLUS humiliation and hostility and jokes and fans saying they have had enough and people in front of the house and bad press etc.
George Michael has always faced the consequences of his actions, but he has also faced much more than that.
The consequences of your actions should be proportional to your actions and not proportional to the success you have achieved or the amount of money you have in the bank.
Hopefully, George Michael has that "quieter life" he has been looking for now that he has fled London. And hopefully he can return to his beloved hometown in peace once the furor all dies down.
